Jealousy isn't one thing — it shows up as thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This 24-item scale breaks it into three subscales to show you your pattern.

What kind of jealousy do you carry?

Jealousy isn't one thing. It can be a thought ("are they texting someone else?"), a feeling (tightness in your chest), or a behavior (checking their phone).

Pfeiffer & Wong (1989) broke jealousy into three independent components. This scale follows that framework.

Three subscales

  • Cognitive: How often do you have thoughts about your partner being unfaithful or attracted to someone else?
  • Emotional: What do you feel when your partner interacts with others?
  • Behavioral: What do you do in response — checking, confronting, withdrawing?

How it works

24 items: first 8 ask about thought frequency, middle 8 about emotional reactions, last 8 about behavioral tendencies. About 5 minutes.

Understanding your results

Each subscale is scored independently (range 8-56). There's no total score. Your pattern might show all three elevated, or just one — that tells you more than a single number would.

Disclaimer

This tool is for self-exploration. Jealousy is a normal human emotion, but if it's significantly disrupting your life or relationships, professional support can help.

Result Interpretation

After completing the 24 questions, you'll receive an immediate, detailed report with:

  • Your score — calculated automatically based on your responses
