What does this test measure?
The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid (KSOG) maps your sexual orientation across 7 dimensions — not just who you sleep with, but who you're drawn to, who you fantasize about, who you connect with emotionally, and how you see yourself. Each dimension is rated across 3 time periods (past, present, ideal), giving you a multi-layered picture that a single Kinsey number can't capture.

The 3 time periods
- Past: A general look back across your life
- Present: The last year or so
- Ideal: Who you'd want to be with if you could choose freely
How is it different from the Kinsey Scale?
Kinsey put orientation on a single 0-6 slider. Klein argued that's too simple — someone could be attracted to both sexes but only have experience with one, or identify as straight while having fantasies they don't act on. The KSOG lets those differences show.
Scoring
This test doesn't give a single "score." Each of the 21 cells is a data point. The result page visualizes your pattern as a grid so you can see at a glance where your orientation is consistent across dimensions and where it shifts.
Average orientation across all dimensions is grouped into four broad profiles, but the real value is in the grid itself — notice if your "ideal" differs from your "present," or if your self-identification doesn't match your attraction pattern.
