Have you been feeling happy, sad, angry, content? SPANE measures how often you experienced positive and negative feelings over the past 4 weeks. 12 items, 3 minutes.

How Have You Been Lately?

SPANE doesn't ask "are you happy?" — that's too vague. It gives you 12 feeling words, positive and negative, and asks how often you've felt each over the past month.

Positive ones: positive, good, pleasant, happy, joyful, contented Negative ones: negative, bad, unpleasant, sad, afraid, angry

Simple. Takes 3 minutes.

Unlike a lot of mood scales, SPANE doesn't assume "more positive = better mental health." It knows people have mixed feelings — happy and anxious at the same time, content and tired. The balance score (positive minus negative) tells a more honest story than either number alone.
