Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI)
Ultra-brief Big Five measure
Only have a minute for the Big Five? The TIPI is the ultra-short 10-item version designed for when time is tight but you still want a read on the five core personality domains. 10 items, about 2 minutes.
Most Big Five tests take 44 to 120 items. The TIPI gets you the same five domains in 10 items — at the cost of lower internal reliability, which the authors were upfront about. Each domain has only 2 items, but the test-retest reliability and external validity hold up reasonably well.
Gosling, Rentfrow & Swann (2003) developed the TIPI for situations where personality isn't the primary focus of the study but you still want a rough map. Rate how well each pair of traits describes you on a 7-point scale. Even if one characteristic fits better than the other, go with your overall impression.
About 2 minutes for all 10 items.
