Measures work engagement across vigor, dedication, and absorption, plus a burnout risk screen. 12 items, about 4 minutes.

How engaged are you at work?

This Work Engagement Assessment measures a positive, fulfilling state of mind characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption — and adds a burnout risk screen alongside the classic engagement framework.

Four dimensions

1. Vigor — high energy and resilience while working 2. Dedication — strong involvement and a sense of meaning 3. Absorption — being fully concentrated and happily engrossed in work 4. Burnout risk — signs of exhaustion, detachment, and self-doubt

About this assessment

The engagement structure is based on the classic model proposed by Schaufeli et al. (2002) — vigor, dedication, and absorption — with adapted item wording. The burnout risk dimension is built on Maslach's burnout theory (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced efficacy) to capture the other side of the work experience.

Research shows that work engagement is associated with:

  • Higher job performance
  • Stronger organizational commitment
  • Lower turnover intention
  • Better health and well-being
Engagement correlates negatively with burnout, but they are not simple opposites — highly engaged people can still show signs of exhaustion. This assessment brings both perspectives together for a more complete picture of your work state.
